Create value for your customers
Why is it you visit a website?

Is it so that you can help the person that has spent hours/days/years creating that website to increase their money?

No, lets face it; when we check out a website it is for our own personal gain. In order to buy something, in order to gain information or entertain ourselves. Now take this observation and think about it. Today I'm going to teach you how to create value for your customers so that they actually WANT to visit your site, and in the process, make you money!

Value creation isn't a new idea. In fact anybody studying business or running a business will tell you that you need to create value. But what does value mean?

Value is a tangible thing. It's the force behind all sales. Value is the thing that your customers/visitors take from buying your items or visiting your website/blog. What is it they should take?

Firstly, you would like them to take a nice long look at your affiliate links or adverts and buy or click on them right? But as a person they will only do that if they can take some kind of value from that.

How can I create value for my customers?

Delving into my idea of a cleaning website, where your promoting cleaning products (affiliating); why would a customer choose to visit you?

You have a whole bunch of shiny pictures of bleach bottles working wonders on stainless steal you say! Why would the customer not want to click on these and buy them through my partner? The reason is, is that a nice picture of a bleach bottle holds NO VALUE to your customer.

Instead, a well written review of the bleach, with images of before and after shots of surfaces you've cleaned with that bleach, will give your customer the added value they need in order to go through your link and purchase the product.

By now hopefully you've created your first website, if not please read this. Once you've created your niche it's time to start adding to that sector and drawing the link between the people who have a problem, and the people who are selling a solution.

This was just a short post, I'm going to try and keep them this way (Unless they're a flat out tutorial). I think its important that we understand the fundamental ideas behind making money before we delve into the finer details!

As always, I like to thank everyone taking the time to read there post, and as always i'd like to finish with our promise.

The promise

Todays promise, is that you are going to bullet point three value creation techniques and tac them to your wall. Once you have this list you are going to stick to it every time you post or partner with a new affiliate.

Here are mine, do you have any that I should swap them for?

  1. Fully use/test the service or product that I'm going to affiliate with, allowing me to review or at least openly and honestly promote a good product.
  2. Celebrate the affiliate over Facebook, showing the fans of our niche what we are promoting.
  3. Point out my affiliate links and let the customer know that I will make a small portion of money for their click/buy and thanking them for the support!

Yours,
Rory!
